Minister of Agriculture, Noel Holder and a team comprising CEO of NAREI, Dr. Oudho Homenauth; Head of NDIA, Frederick Flats; CEO of GLDA, Nigel Cumberbatch and Head of Agriculture Sector Development Unit George Jervis met with members of the West Watooka Farmers’ Association. The meeting was chaired by APNU/ AFC Parliamentarian Audwin Rutherford.
Minister Holder during discussions with the other crops farmers encouraged them to complete registration of their group so as to benefit from resources in an organized manner. He reminded that the community of Ebini, which neighbouring to Linden, is earmarked to be the next frontier of agricultural development. As such, farmers need to focus on their developing their operations be part of the imminent development. Adding to the discussion Jervis advised that financial assistance does not necessarily come in the form of cash- it could include resources to develop a project.
