What is the Plant Pathology Entomology and Weed Science Department about?
This Department provides academic instruction, research and services that focus on crop protection in Guyana. Great strides have been made in biological insect pest, disease and weed control strategies. Additionally, it developed the Acoushi ant bait, which is one of its major accomplishments.
What is our objective?
The objective of this department is to develop Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approaches to manage diseases, insect pests, nematodes and weeds for reducing the losses in yield and quality and higher returns per unit area to farmers.
